Safety and Quality Study Ranks Rush University Medical Center Among the Nation’s Best


Rush University Medical Center received the 2009 Quality Leadership Award as measured by a special quality and accountability benchmarking study conducted by the University HealthSystems Consortium (UHC). Rush was one of five academic medical centers in the country to receive this award. The other top-performing hospitals identified by UHC were Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, University Medical Center in Tucson and the University of Kansas Hospital Authority in Kansas City. Results of the study were shared at UHC’s 9th annual Quality and Safety Forum in Atlanta, Georgia on October 1, 2009. More
